Gen Wright asked:
The analogy of wrestling with football just does not fit well in any case. But then that seems to be the case with Northwestern Wildcats. You just cannot afford to think of anything else at all. But then hey ? We are talking about wrestling here!
And the team here in contention is the Northwestern Wildcats! This Dallas Team definitely had their objective clear even before they could start their season. They had to absolutely decimate every opponent that came their way. They had to ensure that each opportunity was taken and importantly, grabbed with both hands. The fact that they had lost too much before this day means that they do not have anything more to lose from now. And if they do, they are certainly on their way out.
With this thought in mind, and with the goal of competing in the Adams League Division Title 1 playoffs, the Dallas Town team took the wrestling court by storm in the Dallas Town High School. Playing against the Eagles here, the Dallas Town team absolutely pulverized everything that was thrown at them. Punches were traded, pins were dealt ? By the time the evening ended, the Wildcats were victorious 51-19. A heavy margin indeed, but experts would agree that the fights were a little bit closer than what the victory margin would suggest.
Everything just seemed to go as per plan for the Wildcats. They had targeted as many pins as possible, and in the matches, they were able to clock up six pins and a technical fall. Obviously, these played a very crucial part in the final outcome. One of the strategic moves of the Wildcats was to aim at the opponent?s body, whereas the visitors were more intent on targeting the head of a Wildcat. Now that the match is over, the Dovers team could possibly sit back and rethink what went wrong. Surely, the fact that they focused more on the head of the hosts would be one of the mistakes they seem to have committed.
Clay, the son of Coach Gable, seems to have heard enough of his father?s request to get more pins. Dutifully, he led the pin parade scoring against Nicholas Logue of the Dovers at 171. But as the evening came through, it became quite clear that the Wildcats would struggle, especially the major decision won by the Eagles in the match up of Scott Page and Josh Arnold. Scott from the Dovers drove home victory at the count of 135. At this time, the Eagles were trailing 21-19.
Surely, they would have been harboring thoughts of taking a good lead and possibly even winning the match. As it turned out, it was a complete bloodbath for the Dovers. And at the end, they would have to go home licking their wounds after being smashed to a 51-19 defeat. Surely this defeat would rankle the Dovers for some time to come at least, because they are not such a bad team at all.
